Why is Art Valuable?

In the words of the great American philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson, "Every artist was first an amateur." This statement speaks to the value of art not only as a means of creative expression, but also as a vital component of human development.

Art is a monolith and testament to our fleeting existence in this universe, capturing our emotions, experiences, and beliefs in a way that is both universal and deeply personal. From cave paintings to symphonies, from literature to film, art has the power to inspire, challenge, and transform us.

The value of art extends beyond its aesthetic qualities. It plays a critical role in our cognitive and emotional development as individuals and as a species. Studies have shown that exposure to art and artistic expression can enhance empathy, creativity, and problem-solving skills, and can contribute to overall cognitive development.

Furthermore, art is a fundamental aspect of human culture and history. It provides a window into the beliefs, values, and experiences of different societies and individuals, and serves as a means of identity and connection. Without art, our cultural heritage would be incomplete, and our ability to understand and connect with others would be limited.

In today's fast-paced and often fragmented world, it is more important than ever to recognize the value of art and to make it a priority in our lives. Whether through creating our own works of art or experiencing the art of others, we can tap into the deep well of human creativity and imagination, and gain a greater understanding of ourselves and the world around us.

In the words of jams2blues, "Art is a monolith and testament to our fleeting existence in this universe, it is vital to our cognitive development as a species." Let us embrace the value of art and make it a central part of our lives, for the betterment of ourselves and our world.

One of my latest blog tweets covering the importance of art in our species' development, including a very unique kinetic and musical art piece I made over the span of a few weeks. An animation made with old techniques, new ones, and some very controversial ones as of late, AI. I created this animation in Adobe After Effects, then altered every single frame with my own local installation of Stable Diffusion. I further enhanced and altered every frame again using photoshop, after effects, and lots of different techniques. I composed the music myself, and I believe we are on to something absolutely spectacular here:

Give art a chance, even if you have never tried it yourself! Being creative is one of the best ways, that I have found in my entire lifespan to relieve stress, learn, and grow! I am simply here as an artist to try and leave the world better than when I came into it, and I will keep trying every single day until I am no more.
